Your Privacy Matters
QuickCut is designed with privacy at its core. We process your images directly in your browser using client-side technology whenever possible, meaning your photos never leave your device during normal usage.
What We Collect
- Nothing by default: When you use QuickCut to remove backgrounds, your images are processed entirely in your browser.
- Share links (client-side): If you choose to create a shareable link, the image data is encoded directly in the URL - no server storage required.
- Browser storage: Your edit history (last 20 images) is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. We cannot access this data.
- Analytics: We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our service (page views, feature usage).
Data Processing
Client-side processing (default): We use MediaPipe (Google's image segmentation library) to remove backgrounds directly in your browser. Your images never touch our servers.
Server-side fallback (rare): If client-side processing fails, we may process your image on our servers using @imgly/background-removal-node. Images are immediately deleted after processing.
Third-Party Services
- Google Fonts: Loads our custom fonts (Outfit, Inter).
- Ahrefs Analytics: Collects anonymous usage data for analytics.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Clear your edit history at any time (History → Clear All)
- All browser data stays on your device
- Shareable links are client-side encoded URLs (no server storage)
- We never sell or share your images with third parties
