Why logos need a different tool

AI background removers are trained on photos: they look for a subject and guess where it ends. A logo is already flat, so guessing only adds error. The AI may round off sharp corners or treat a white letter counter as background.

This tool instead works out which colour is the background and removes exactly that, using a flood fill from the border so enclosed white shapes stay. Edges keep their original anti-aliasing through colour-to-alpha.

Checklist for a usable logo PNG

  • Start from the largest file you have; 1000 px wide or more is ideal.
  • Preview on both White and Dark before downloading.
  • Make a one-colour white version for dark photos and slides.
  • Keep “Trim empty space” on so the logo aligns properly in layouts.

Where the white halo comes from

Each grey pixel becomes black ink at partial opacity, so the edge stays smooth on any background.

Questions people ask

How do I remove the background from a logo?

Drop the logo file above. The background colour is detected from the edges and made transparent, while white or light areas inside the logo are kept (“Keep enclosed areas” is on by default). Download the trimmed PNG.

My logo is on a coloured background. Does that work?

Yes, as long as the background is one flat colour. The tool picks the most common edge colour automatically; use “Pick from image” if it chooses the wrong one.

How do I make a white version of my logo for dark backgrounds?

Tick “Make the artwork one solid colour” and choose white. Preview it with the “Dark” button to check before downloading.

Can I get an SVG?

No, this tool produces PNG or WebP. For print and very large sizes, ask the designer for the original vector file (SVG, AI or EPS). For the web, slides and social media, a high-resolution PNG is usually enough.

The logo edges look jagged. Why?

The source image is probably small or heavily compressed. Start from the largest version you can find, and raise Edge softness a little to smooth the steps.
