White-background rules sellers run into

Marketplaces want the main image on white because it makes search results look consistent and puts the attention on the product. Amazon’s product image requirements, for example, ask for a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling about 85% of the frame.

To match that here: choose Square, set Margin to about 8%, keep White selected and tick the soft shadow if you want the product grounded.

Is the white really pure white?

Yes. The background is filled with RGB 255, 255, 255, which is what Amazon and most marketplaces mean by “pure white”. Many phone photos of a white wall are actually light grey, which is why they get rejected.

Can I use this for a passport or visa photo?

It creates the plain light background, but official rules differ by country: the US State Department asks for white or off-white, while many other countries specify light grey or a particular colour, plus exact head size and dimensions. Check the issuing authority’s rules, and pick “Colour” if they require a light grey.

Should I add a shadow?

A soft shadow makes a product look grounded rather than floating, and marketplaces generally allow a natural shadow. Tick “Soft drop shadow” to add one underneath the cutout.

Why does my product have a thin grey outline?

That’s leftover background at the very edge. Move “Shrink/grow” a few points to the negative side, or lower Softness so the edge is crisper.
